CLINTON, MAINE—Albert O. Dixon Sr., of Clinton, Maine passed away with his family by his side on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at his residence in Clinton. He was born in Benton, Maine on August 13, 1927, the son of the late Ole John and Emma (Rood) Dixon. Albert attended school in Benton, Maine and graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, Maine. He was employed by Tilcon for many years, retiring in the mid 90's. Albert was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4wheeling, and walking. He also enjoyed eating at Governor's restaurant and was a big Boston Red Sox fan. Albert was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Marion; his brothers, George and Clifford “Cookie”; and his sisters, Pearl, Beverly, Charlotte, Divola, and Betty. Albert will be sadly missed by his children, Albert Dixon Jr. and his wife, Tammy of Norridgewock, Maine, Sandra Doyon and her husband, Robert of Winslow, Maine, and Bonnie Dixon of Fairfield, Maine; his brothers, Alphonso “Buster” Dixon and his wife, Beverly of Norridgewock, Maine, Alton Dixon and his wife, Cora of Benton, Maine, and Rodney Dixon and his companion, Vicky Hughes of Waterville, Maine; his sisters, Eva Lavoie and her husband, Roland of Clinton, Maine, and Mary Martin and her husband, Spike of Benton, Maine; his grandchildren, Kristie Adams, Kellie Huard, Robert and Reginald Doyon, Nikkia Finnemore, and Krystal Dixon; his great grandchildren, Mason, Max, Mackenzie, McKinley, Duncan, Liam, Alexander, Melissa, Benjamin, and Kristopher; his very special companion, Marilyn Theriault; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at HealthReach Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion that Albert and the family received. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 5 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 6 with Pastor Bill Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow at Village Cemetery in Clinton, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
