Rome- Alton Mosher born in North Anson on July 10, 1928, son of Paris and Martha (Dudley) Mosher passed at home on December 17, 2018, after a brief illness with his loving wife of 69 years Alice (Wentworth) Mosher at his side. \r\n\r\nKnown as Al Johnny Bud Smokey and as he used to say “my grandfather called me Peter” he worked for CMP as a lineman and supervisor for almost 40 years. His passion was hunting fishing and trapping and spent years as a Maine Guide. Alton enjoyed nothing more than hunting with his sons and recounting his many adventures with loved ones in the Maine woods or on the family farm.\r\n\r\nAlton is survived by all his children, Gary and wife Mary of Rome, Jean and husband Cliff Fletcher of Manchester, Sandy and wife Cindy of Rome, and Jana and husband Tom Patten of Rome; his only sister Lois and her husband Richard LaBelle of Rome; and many nieces nephews grandchildren and great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be on Thursday, December 20th, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Wheeler Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Oakland. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Maine General Hospice.
