WINDSOR, MAINE—Barbara H. Clifford, of Windsor, Maine passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2014, at Gray Birch Rehabilitation in Augusta, Maine following a brief illness. She was born in Windsor, Maine on April 8, 1933, the daughter of Charles and Bernice (Ellsmore) Andrews. Barbara graduated from Erskine Academy. She raised her family in Windsor and was a homemaker for most of her life. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked as a private duty nurse until her retirement. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and going out to eat with family and friends. Barbara attended Chelsea Advent Christian Church. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Kenneth, Thomas, and Frederick Andrews; her sister, Genevieve Arnold; and her husbands, Douglas Hopkins, Leo Clifford, and Lyle Small. Barbara will be sadly missed by her sons, Douglas Hopkins and his wife, Susan of Woolwich, Maine, Timothy Hopkins and his wife, Shirley of Augusta, Maine, Clifton Hopkins and his wife, Julie of Windsor, Maine, and Thomas Hopkins and his significant other, Darlene of Camas, Washington; her daughter, Helen Emery and her husband, Richard of Crystal River, Florida; her daughter in law, Tammy Hopkins of Windsor, Maine; her step daughters, Linda Bailey of Randolph, Maine, and Joan Lavoie of West Gardiner, Maine; 14 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. A time of visiting will be from noon to 1 p.m. with a funeral service to begin at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 20 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home-Gray Chapel, 207 Windsor Neck Rd., Windsor, Maine. Spring burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Windsor, Maine.
