Carol-Ann LaBrecque of Winslow, Maine went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, May 13, 2011, following her courageous battle with cancer. She was born on February 26, 1959, in New York, NY, and adopted into the loving home of Loraine and the late Ralph C. Marden. Carol-Ann earned an associates degree in library sciences from the University of Maine and was employed by the Winslow Public Library. She was a member of Kennebec Valley Baptist Church where she served as chair of hospitality and was a member of the Prayer/Care/Share Knitting Ministry. She enjoyed music, homemaking, new recipes and spending time with friends and family at their camp on China Lake. Her favorite Bible verse was Joshua 1:9--Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee wherever thou goest. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, of 30 years; their son, Peter; her mother, Loraine Marden of Naples, Florida; her brother, Jeffrey Marden of South Portland; her in-laws, Frank and Sandra LaBrecque; many sisters- and brothers-in-law; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by their firstborn son, Paul Joseph Joey who died of cancer at the age of 4. There will be no visiting hours. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Kennebec Valley Baptist Church, Waterville, Maine at 11 a.m. A celebration of her life will follow the service.
