FAIRFIELD, MAINE--Clifford Lee Arney Jr., son of Sarah Birckeichler and Clifford Arney Sr., was born in Nuremburg, Germany, May 2, 1977, and passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Cliff was known to all his friends and family as “Boogie”. Boogie was an accomplished martial artist, musician and guitarist, and an outdoor adventurist. He enjoyed spending time exploring, admiring nature, mentoring and meditation. He was a very loving, selfless, brilliant, spiritual person, who gave of himself to anyone in need. He enjoyed studying history and science most of all, and was like a book of knowledge and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He was predeceased by his father, Clifford Arney Sr.; his grandfather, Benjamin and Grandmother, Genie; and his sister, Angelic. Cliff is survived by his life partner, Valerie Tracy Stephenson; step children, Courtney Marr and Jayden Stephenson, of Fairfield, Maine; his sister, Leeann LaCroix of FL; his brother, Joey Hendricks of PA; his mother and step-father, Sarah and Michael Hammett of SC; his children, Alexandra “Lexie” and Brendon Arney of AZ, and Scott and Bryan Arney-Rabinowitz of FL; Valerie's mother, Lillian Tracy; Valerie’s sister, Vanessa and her husband Kevin McFadden; and Valerie’s brothers, Rick and Dan Thyng of ME. He loved and was loved by his nieces and nephews, Sarah, Johnny, Todd, Jamie, Stephie and Karrin of FL, and Rachel, Ashley, Daniel, Chelsea and Shelby of ME. He had many special friends that he enjoyed spending time with and loved as if they were family; Donny King of FL, Charlie Judkins of ME, and Andrew Dimmitt of NH. There will be a celebration of his life on Monday, February 18 at 2:30 p.m., at the Nazarene Church, 81 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine, followed by a fellowship after the service.
