MADISON, ME—Clyde D. Higgins, of Madison, ME passed away with family and friends by his side on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, ME.\r\n\r\nHe was born in Albion, ME on April 12, 1944, the son of the late Clarence G. and Laura J. (Cloutier) Higgins.\r\n\r\nClyde was a very hard working man. He worked at family dairy farms, worked in construction, and returned to his passion of working on the farm, where most recently he was working with his daughter and son-in-law on the Paine Farm in Madison, ME. He took great pride in raising the calves.\r\n\r\nHe was an avid outdoorsman and truly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. Clyde loved working in the outdoors, and spending time with his family. \r\n\r\nBesides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Clifton and Michael Higgins.\r\n\r\nClyde will be sadly missed by his companion and wife of 37 years, Kim Higgins; his children, Kathleen Lewis and her significant other, Justin Berube of Albion, ME, Jennifer Bouchard and her husband, Scott of Clinton, ME, Juanita Paine and her husband, Dean of Madison, ME, Carrie Henderson and her husband. Christian of Clinton, ME, and Michaela Higgins of Madison, ME; his brothers, Winston Higgins and his wife, Rebecca of Albion, ME, Ronald Higgins and his wife, Linda of Portland, ME, Freeman Higgins and his wife, Rebecca of Albion, ME, Clayton Higgins and his wife, Geraldine of Albion, ME, Wayne Higgins and his wife, Elaine of Fairfield, ME, and Jeff Higgins and his wife, Raye of Oakland, ME; his grandchildren, Chelsey, Brittney, Ashley, JiaLi, Jaiden, Peyton, Kelsey, Kasey, Bryant, Megan, Josh, Alyssa, Jacolby, Caden, Cylie, and Dexter; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Olivia, Paisley, Maddilyn, Chance, and Baylee; his special friends, Richard Reed and John McClain; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 8 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, ME where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9 with Pastor Steve Donahue officiating. Burial will follow at Maplegrove Cemetery in Albion, ME. Following burial, a reception will take place at the Besse Building in Albion, ME.
