Albion, Maine-Crosby G. Keay, 86, of Albion, Maine, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Waterville, Maine. He was born in Sedgwick, Maine on October 8, 1925, the son of the late Harold and Lena (Crosby) Keay. He entered the United States Marines on December 29, 1943, and served in the South Pacific during World War Two. He was honorably discharged on April 12, 1946, with the rank of Corporal. After being discharged from the service, he graduated from Kents Hill High School, and Burdett College in Massachusetts. He owned and operated H. L. Keay’s and Son General Store in Albion, Maine. He enjoyed greeting everyone at the store. He married the former Gloria Farrar in 1954, she passed away in 1989. He was a member of Central Lodge NO. 45, A.F. & A.M., in China, Maine, and was a Shriner. He also belonged to the Albion, Maine and Benton, Maine Grange, and was a member of the Albion Christian Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, and all sports especially baseball. He was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, and Green Bay Packers football fan. He is survived by his four children, Daryl Keay and his wife Gloria, Jerry Keay and his wife Patty, Kevin Keay, and Lisa Fortin and her husband Joseph all of Albion, Maine; eight grandchildren, Leland Keay, Kirk Keay and his wife Julie, Dyane Lemieux and her husband Denis, Kayla and Jessica Keay, Peter Fortin, Ian Fortin and his wife Maryah, and Mindy Costigan; five great grandchildren Damin-Lee, Marci Auna, Mariyah, Harlen, and Trinity; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, November 9, from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 10, at 11 a.m. at Albion Christian Church on Main Street, Albion, Maine, with the Rev. Brad Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Maplegrove Cemetery in Albion, Maine.
