FAIRFIELD, MAINE-Donna B. Cashman, 89, passed away peacefully at Mount St. Joseph Nursing Home on Friday, January 20, 2012, with family by her side. She was born on July 20, 1922, in Fairfield, Maine to Donald B. and Evelyn (Ayotte) Reid. Donna graduated from Lawrence High School and married when she was 21 years old. She was a homemaker most of her life except for a brief period when she worked at Hollingsworth and Whitney. Donna played the piano, loved to crochet and was an avid reader. She had several close cousins and friends that used to meet often. Donna was predeceased by her parents, Donald B. and Evelyn Reid; her husband, John B. Cashman; her daughter, Jacqueline E. Cashman; her sister, Caroline Marshall; and her brothers, Clayton Reid, Donald B. Reid, Jr. and Edward Reid. She is survived by a brother in law, Kenneth Cashman and his wife, Dot; a sister in law, Delores Doody; and many nieces and nephews including two very close nieces, Judith Ireland and Wendy McCaslin. There will be a graveside service in the spring at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Waterville, Maine. The family would like to thank the staff at Mount St. Joseph and Beacon Hospice who gave her impeccable care and friendship, also to those who sat by her side in her final days.
