Union, ME--Edna F. Blake, 89, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Woodlands of Rockland, ME.\r\n\r\nEdna was born in Knox, ME on September 1, 1929, the daughter of the late Clyde and Delphina (Stimpson) Elkins.\r\n\r\nShe left home at a young age, moving to Waterville, ME and went to work at the Diamond\r\nMatch Factory. She later met and married her husband, John. They lived in Union, ME and\r\nbuilt their own home from trees on their land. This is where she devoted her time raising\r\nanimals. She loved her dogs and horses. \r\n\r\nEdna was an avid deer hunter and liked to go fishing. She would often be found with her sister digging fiddleheads and dandelion greens.\r\n\r\nShe was predeceased by her husband, John L. Blake; and sisters, Mavis and Ruth.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her brother, Jerald Elkins of Searsport; and many nieces and nephews.\r\n\r\nA graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 2 at Knox Ridge Cemetery in Knox, ME, with Pastor Bill Lawrence officiating.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank the folks at Woodlands of Rockland and especially Michelle, and Beacon Hospice as well.
