Sidney, ME-Emily Eugenia Davenport, 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 25, 2015.\r\n\r\nShe leaves behind her husband, Sterling of 39 years, her son Alex Davenport and wife Anne of Augusta, ME, her daughter Amber Schmitt and husband Eric and their children, Kieran, Jordan, and Madeline of Concord, Ca., her sister Margaret Knights and husband Albert of Oakland, ME.\r\n\r\nEmily was a graduate of Williams High School, Kennebec Valley Vocational Technical Institute and also the National Academy of Paralegal Studies. While pursuing her studies, she worked a variety of jobs as a waitress. Following this, she worked for Thayer Hospital in Waterville, ME in a variety of departments, serving almost 30 years as a medical secretary in the Intensive Care Unit there. Her last 7 years she served as an employee of Downeast Pharmacy, Omnicare Pharmacy, Family Practice Unit of Eastern Maine Medical, and was working for Maine Veterans Home Pharmacy in Augusta, ME at the time of her death. \r\n\r\nGrowing up as a child, she received a variety of certificates from 4-H Clubs. She would help her mom at the Oakland Grange and worked with her father mowing lawns and helping with garbage collection for his company. She was supportive of animals, donating to World Wildlife Federation. She would frequently dog sit for friends.\r\n\r\nShe was viewed as a friend by numerous people and to some even a parental figure in their lives. Her personality was as vibrant as the colors that she would wear. She was a philanthropist with her time as she was there for anyone that needed help. She had a passion for life, love, for her family and a desire to learn and better herself. There will be numerous ways she will be remembered, but to those who knew her and loved her she will be known as friend, wife and mom. \r\n \r\nFriends are invited to visit Sunday, May 31, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Lawry Brothers-Wheeler, 26 Church Street, Oakland, ME.
