Vassalboro, ME-Frederick “Dicky” R. Alley, 86, of Vassalboro, ME, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Cedar Ridge in Skowhegan, ME.\r\n\r\nHe was born in his home in Vassalboro, ME on July 29, 1929, the son of the late Raymond and Harriett (Canham) Alley. He was a graduate of Winslow High School.\r\n\r\nHe married Marilyn I. Choate on March 19, 1966, and shared 49 wonderful years together. \r\nFor many years, he was employed in area woolen mills as an electrician, was a farmer, and retired as a cab driver in the early 2000’s.\r\n\r\nIn his younger years, he was a Free Mason. He enjoyed old trucks, loved Fords, and was a practical joker. His cab call at the call center was “Tricky Dick”. He also enjoyed spending time with family, and friends.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his wife, Marilyn Alley of Vassalboro, ME; her son, Raymond Alley of Vassalboro, ME; his daughter, Rachel Akers and her husband, David of Albion, ME; two grandchildren, Richard Akers, and Jesse Akers; a great grandson, Simone Akers; and several friends, including the several staff members at Cedar Ridge in Skowhegan, ME.\r\n\r\nA graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December, 9, at 11 a.m. at Methodist Cemetery, Bog Road, East Vassalboro, ME with the Rev.
