ALBION, Maine-Frederick Brawn Shores, 82, of Albion, Maine passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016, at his home with his loving family by his side. \r\n\r\nFred was born on March 26, 1934 in Benton, Maine, the son of Erlon and Gladys (Brawn) Shores. He married Lois Hunt on January 28, 1957. \r\n\r\nFred was raised on a dairy farm in Albion, Maine. He loved farming, it was his life. He spent his life working with animals on the farm and working the land. He purchased their farm in Albion in 1964, and that is where he spent his life raising nine children and working on his dairy farm. \r\n\r\nHe loved animals and raised many different breeds of animals over the years. He also enjoyed gardening and always had huge gardens of vegetables that he shared with his family and neighbors. For many years his hobby was pony pulling. He spent his “free” time exercising his ponies in preparation of the fair season where he competed in pony pulling. He also enjoyed cattle auctions where socialized with friends and family. \r\n\r\nWhen he could no longer work on the farm he took care of his chickens and always made sure everyone in the family had fresh eggs. He also had a passion for country music. Fred was a family man and will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather and friend to many. \r\n\r\nHe was predeceased by his son, Dennis Shores; and his brothers, Herbert Shores and Dale Shores.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his wife, Lois and their children, Cindy Shores of Albion, Maine, Karen Adams of Florida, Kevin Shores and his wife, Alice of Albion, Maine, Terry Shores and his wife, Kimberlee of Florida, Jeff Shores of Albion, Maine, Laurie Bilodeau and her husband, Chris of Winslow, Maine, Billy Shores and his significant other, Diane Barnes of Vassalboro, Maine, and Amy Harkins and her husband, Floyd of Albion, Maine. \r\n\r\nHe was the proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren, Shaun and Spencer Shores, Justin, Corey, Brandon, Jessica, Kristian, Hadassah, Makayla and Rebekah Shores, Grace, Jack and Kera Bilodeau and Cameron and Chase Harkins. He is also survived by his sisters, Louise Bellows of Winslow, Maine, Gloria and her husband, Ronald Gregory of Winslow, Maine, his brothers, Donald Shores of Oakland, Maine, Manley Shores and Amasa Shores of Albion, Maine, Erlon Shores Jr, Allen Shores of Winslow, Maine, and Danny Shores of Albion, Maine. \r\n\r\nHe is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces and many friends in the farming and local community. \r\n\r\nA graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at 11a.m. at the No. 4 Cemetery in Albion, Maine. Per Fred’s wishes, all are welcome to attend.
