Geraldine E. Grover, 82, passed away Monday, January 10, 2011 at Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility in Pittsfield, Maine. She was born in Oakland on October 15, 1928 the daughter of the late Guy and Myrtie (Brown) Bickford. She graduated from Williams High School in Oakland. In her early years she was employed with Diamond Match in Oakland, Maine. Geraldine married Frank Grover Jr. and they settled in Fairfield, Maine and raised four sons together. The couple resided in Fairfield all of their lives. Geraldine loved wildlife and enjoyed spending time watching the birds and other animals. She had parakeets and cats of which she was very fond. She was past president of the Grover-Hinckley Ladies Auxiliary in Fairfield as well as past president of Ladies Parley. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Grover Jr., who passed away May 3, 1997; and her brothers, Otis, Leo, Earl, Ronald, Maurice, Clair, Laurel, and Roy Bickford. Geraldine will be sadly missed by her four sons, Michael Grover of Addison, Stephen Grover of Fairfield, Ronald Grover and his wife, Tracy of Belgrade, and Richard Grover and his wife, Tammy of Burnham; two sisters, Charlene McMonagle of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Gloria Thompson of Oakland; a brother, Roger Bickford of Oakland; and many nieces and nephews. At the familys request there will be no visiting hours or services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Sebasticook Valley Health Care Facility, 167 Leighton St., Pittsfield, Maine 04976.
