Waterville, ME- Gloria Begin Rancourt, 90, of Waterville, ME, passed away on May 31, 2015, at the Woodlands on the River Road in Waterville, ME. \r\n\r\nShe was born in Fairfield, ME on May 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Omer and Cora (Gilbert) Begin, and sister of Vivian, Omer, and Dorian Begin. She attended Fairfield schools. \r\n\r\nOn May 4, 1946, she married Reginald Rancourt, a self-employed carpenter, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield, ME. Her career was started as a teller at Depositors trust in Fairfield, ME, a bookkeeper at LaVerdiere’s Drug Store in Fairfield, ME, and last as assistant manager at Peoples Bank in Fairfield, ME.\r\n\r\nGloria lived and raised her family in the house she was born in on Pleasant Street in Fairfield, ME until she moved to the Woodlands. She was an active member of the church belonging to various women’s groups and was a CCD teacher. Gloria enjoyed time spent at camp on Big Indian Lake, where she enjoyed relaxing and reading. Gloria also enjoyed time with family and friends, swimming and fishing in the summer, ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter, and spending time with her bowling team. \r\n\r\nShe is predeceased by her brothers Dorian and Omer Begin. \r\n\r\nShe is survived by her two sons Ronald and wife Bonnie of Bangor, ME, and Larry and wife Debbie of China, ME; grandchildren Kevin and wife Jen of Turner, ME, Marc and wife Heather of Canton, ME, Lynn and husband Howard of Nashua NH, and Joel and wife Chris of China, ME; great grandchildren, Rebecca, Ben, Zach, and Alexis; her sister Vivian O’Donnell, sisters-in-law Yevette Begin, and Connie Begin; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.\r\n\r\n A special thank you to Woodlands Memory Care staff for the love and caring they showed our mother.\r\n\r\nA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 8, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Church, Silver Street in Waterville, ME.
