FAIRFIELD, MAINE-- James “Buddy” F. MacDonald went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2012. He was born in Unity, Maine on February 26, 1949, the son of the late Alan E. and Velma E. (Shorey) MacDonald. On December 7, 1976, he married the love of his life, and best friend, Kathy Carter. They recently celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. Buddy worked for many years as a truck driver for Lee Bros. before going to work at Scott Paper Co. in Winslow, Maine where he was employed for 22 years before retiring due to ill health. Some of his favorite pastimes were watching sports, especially NASCAR races, and football. Buddy loved spending time with his family, and friends, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a very giving person, always lending a hand when needed. He was predeceased by one brother, Norman; and three sisters, Roberta, Sharon and Susie. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; his son and best bud, Steven J. and his wife, Gina of Winslow, Maine; two daughters, Velma MacDonald of Palmyra, Maine, and Candy and her husband, Art Cress of Waterville, Maine; several grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Sheila, Posey, Sandra, and Kathy; a special sister- in- law, Tammy Jo Herrin; a niece, JacyDiAnne Cunningham; extended family, Lawrence and Rhonda Robinson all of whom meant the world to him; several sisters and brothers in law; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
