JEAN M. (FOWLER) CHARITY\r\n1927-2018\r\n\r\nFAIRFIELD, ME—Jean M. (Fowler) Charity, 91, of Fairfield, ME went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, June 18, 2018, in her home as she had always wanted. Her family was around her and as she was used to, since raising six children, it wasn’t a dull moment.\r\n\r\nJean was born in Carlisle, N.B. Canada on June 1, 1927. She was the first born child of Gerald W. Fowler and Iva (Prosser) Fowler. She first attended school in Canada before her family moved to Thorndike, ME by horse and buggy in 1936. Jean graduated from Freedom Academy in Freedom, ME. \r\n\r\nJean never worked outside of the home. She gave her full attention and energy to her husband and six children. She shared that calling with other area children as she was asked.\r\n\r\nJean was a talented seamstress, generous hostess, great cook, fisherman, avid bargain shopper, and committed Christian woman. She served God in many positions in the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene, following her marriage and moving to Fairfield, ME.\r\n\r\nJean was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Ernest L. Charity; her son, Deane; her granddaughter, Rachel Roy; and her brother, Floyd Fowler.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by her children, Dana Charity of Fairfield, ME, Cynthia Evans (John) of Belfast, ME, Bonnie Kerns (Mark) of Thorndike, ME, Ann White (Harlan) of Vassalboro, ME, and Faith Rines (Doug) of Hartford, ME; her grandchildren, John M. Evans of Strong, ME, Holly Evans of Belfast, ME, Sherry Runci of Ellsworth, ME, Marcy Davidson of Queensbury, NY, Abby Pooler of Vassalboro, ME, and Kyle Rines and Kaitlyn Rines of Hartford, ME; 11 great grandchildren; her brother, Stephen Fowler of Thorndike, ME; her sisters, Fern Hoskins of Scarborough, ME, Ruth Thompson of Belfast, ME, Delta Cooper of Norwell, MA, and Dorothy Mexcur of Westbrook, ME; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; especially her niece, Florence Clyde of Fairfield, ME.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a funeral service to begin at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 25 at the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene, 81 Main St., Fairfield, ME. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield, ME.\r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Fairfield Church of the Nazarene, P.O.
