Benton, Maine-Joseph L. Buzzell, 90, of Benton, Maine, died on Monday, August 5, 2013, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Campus in Waterville, Maine. He was born on May 3, 1923, in Benton, Maine, the son of the late George L. and Minnie Marie (Harding) Buzzell. He was educated in Benton, Maine and Fairfield, Maine schools. Joseph resided in Benton, Maine his entire life while raising a family and working at his craft of carpentry. Joseph is survived by his wife of 69 years, Priscilla (Vosburg) Buzzell of Benton, Maine; his daughter, Crystal Trela and her husband Stanley of New Hampshire; a granddaughter, Jayme (Little) Havens and her husband Clayton of New Hampshire; two great grandsons, James and Joseph Havens of New Hampshire. Joseph Havens was named after his great grandfather who described him as being “To pretty to be a boy.” “Joe” was one of a kind, and will be sadly missed by all. Joseph was one of seven siblings, all being deceased except one, Joyce (Buzzell) Wheeler. Deceased siblings oldest to youngest are Glendon, Erwin, Leahbelle, George, and Evelyn. Friends may visit from 2-6p.m. on Thursday, August 8, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. Committal prayers will be offered at 1p.m. on Friday, August 9, at Falls Cemetery, Route 100A, Benton, Maine, with Rev. Jack Quigg officiating. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to Richard Eames of Winslow, Maine who has been by our side throughout the entire time. He is Joseph’s nephew, son of John Henry and Leahbelle Eames. Special thanks are also sent to the many nurses at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Campus in Waterville, Maine and Dr. Ruth.
