Waterville- Katherine June Price, 89, died on October 24, 2017, in Waterville.\r\n\r\nJune was born on October 4, 1928, in Waterville, the daughter of the late Reginald and Gladys Price.\r\n\r\nJune graduated from Averill High School in Hinckley in 1946 and from Thomas Business School in 1948. June held numerous secretarial positions in the Waterville and Skowhegan area, retiring from the Skowhegan Water Company.\r\n\r\nJune was known for her wit, kindness and generosity. She was a voracious reader and her personal collection of books would rival any small library. June loved music and was a talented singer and pianist. She enjoyed singing with her friends in the Kennebelles, a local ladies singing group.\r\n\r\nShe was a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of the Goodwill Hinckley School, an organization dear to her heart. June and her siblings were educated there, and she lived on the grounds with her parents for over forty years.\r\n\r\nJune was predeceased by her siblings, Carroll Price, Glenys Proctor, Lenny Price and Arnold Price; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frederick Proctor, Kay Price and Lillian Price; and nephew and niece, Dean Price and Jean Caron.\r\n\r\nJune will be missed by many close friends and family. She is survived by nephews, Fred Proctor and wife Carole, John Proctor and wife Betty, and Lee Caron; nieces, Cynthia Barlow, Linda Caron and Suzanne Proctor; sister-in-law Gen Price; grand nephews and nieces, Rick, Karen, Kristin, John, Jeff, Kevin, Joel, Amanda and Emily.\r\n\r\nJune’s family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation for the love and support shown to June by her longtime neighbors, Kathy and Laurie Rich. June enjoyed a very special relationship with these ladies and considered them part of her family.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be on Sunday, October 29th, from 5-7 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 30th, at 11 a.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Goodwill-Hinckley Cemetery in Hinckley.
