January 4, 2013 Oakland: Kathleen R. Joler, 86 died Thursday January 3, 2013 at the Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center in Farmington. She was born in Pittsfield on April 13, 1926 the daughter of William and Louise (Murphy) Gerow. Kay grew up in Pittsfield and attended MCI. She worked many years at the Diamond International Corp in Oakland. A long time resident of Oakland, she was a member of St. Theresa s Catholic Church. Her life involved her family, especially the time she spent with her sisters. Kay was an avid reader, bingo player, and enjoyed search a word puzzles. In her retirement, she and her husband enjoyed camping and wintering in Florida, and traveling in their motor home. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 2 husbands; Glendon Witham and Emmanuel Joler, a son Glendon Witham Jr., a daughter Nancy Witham, step son Wayne Joler, grandson Todd St. Peter, brothers Harold Gerow, and Garfield Gerow, and sister Beatrice Burgess. Surviving are a daughter Gail Spaulding and husband Sammie of Rangeley, step daughters; Millie Worthly and husband Kendall of Oakland, Cynthia Peavey and husbnad Gordon of Florida, Bonnie St Peter ans husband Larry of Brunswick and Claudia Holl and husband John of Tennessee, brother Francis Gerow of Virginia, sisters Hilda Powers of Brunswick, Mary Jones of Palermo, and Priscilla Veilleux of Florida. 2 grand children; Karen Hamdlen and husband Jeremy of Gorham, and Michael Spaulding and wife Ryee of Readfield, 3 great grandchildren Madison and Emilee Hamdlen and Maebella Spaulding, many step grand children and step great grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Orchard Park staff and nurses for the excellent care they provided to Kathleen. Friends are invited to visit 9-1030 AM on Monday January 7 at the Wheeler Funeral Home 26 Church Street Oakland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Monday at Notre Dame Church Silver Street Waterville. Spring burial will be at the Lake View Cemetery in Oakland.
