Fairfield- A new angel has reported for work. Kurt Leonard Martin, 36, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2017. \r\n\r\nKurt was born on June 11, 1981, in Waterville, the son of Allan and Valerie (Voter) Martin. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 2001 and attended the Culinary Arts Program at Mid-Maine Technical Center.\r\n\r\nKurt worked for Sodexo at Colby College and then at Thomas College in dining services as a dishwasher for 16 years.\r\n \r\nHe was a huge sports fan. Kurt loved watching the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics games. He also appreciated trips to see the Sea Dogs. Kurt enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and enjoyed being at camp in Sandy River Plantation. He always spent a lot of time helping out his parents around the house. Kurt especially liked to hang out with his nephews.\r\n\r\nHe was well known for his smile, helpfulness, and hard work. He touched many lives with his sweet and gentle soul. People often felt noticed when he was around. Kurt was conscientious and always did his best at all tasks in front of him.\r\n\r\nKurt is survived by his parents, Allan and Valerie Martin; brothers, Karl Martin, Keith Martin, and Kevin Martin; grandparents Cecile and Paul Ratte; nephews, Jack and Connor Martin; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be on Friday, November 3rd, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., in Fairfield. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 4th, at 10 a.m. at the Ayotte Auditorium on the Campus of Thomas College in Waterville followed by a light reception.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank Sodexo, Colby, and Thomas Colleges for supporting Kurt throughout the years.
