FAIRFIELD, MAINE—Larry Richard Ricker Sr.,78, of Fairfield, Maine, passed away following a long illness on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, Maine, with his family by his side. He was born in Waterville, Maine on February 6, 1936, the son of the late Percy and Lina (Moore) Ricker. Larry attended Waterville schools. He married the former Laura Parker in China, Maine and together they shared 44 years of marriage. He was employed by C.F. Hathaway Shirt Company until the mill closed, retiring at the age of 65 with 40 years of dedicated service. Larry had a great love of camping and the outdoors. He took great pride in keeping his property looking good. He also enjoyed woodworking, watching old movies (especially John Wayne), listening to music, and long rides in the country. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved uncle, Wilfred Reicker; and his brother-in-law, George “Che Che” Caron. Larry will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Laura Ricker; their daughter, Doreen Tozier of Fairfield, Maine, and her children, Steven Tozier Jr. of Fairfield, Maine, and Emily Tozier of Fairfield, Maine; Larry’s son, Larry Ricker Jr. of Waterville, Maine; Larry’s daughters, Brenda Ames and her significant other, Dick Vashon of Winslow, Maine, and Carol Monegan and her husband, Mike of Waterville, Maine; Larry’s grandchildren, Serina Ricker of Canada, Erica Ricker of Waterville, Maine, Sean Ames of Fairfield, Maine, and Brandon Ames of Fairfield, Maine; his sister, Marlene Caron of Waterville, Maine; and his beloved cat, Abey. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine. Burial will follow at Tozier Cemetery in Fairfield, Maine.
