WATERVILLE, MAINE — After a long battle with cancer, Lila May Wentworth Hardy of Waterville, Maine passed away Nov. 25, 2011. Lila was born July 25, 1953, to Leon M. Wentworth and Frances M. Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; three sisters, Eloise Holt, Helen Holt and Debra Wentworth; a brother, Berchard “Dicky” Wentworth; as well as her granddaughter, Candida Hoffmeister. She is survived by two sons Richard J. Wentworth and his daughter, Nicole M. Brown, and Stephen W.R. Hoffmeister Sr., his wife, Linnea, and their two sons, Stephen Jr. and Joshua; ex-husband Clyson Hardy; four sisters, Joanne Spaulding of Waterville, Maine, Joyce Cochrane of Massachusetts, Shirley Jamerson of Indiana and Patricia Walsh of Richmond, Maine; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Burial will be in the spring with a celebration of life to be announced. The family would like to thank Hospice of Maine, Catholic Charities of Maine and Maplecrest Rehabilitation & Living Center of Madison, Maine for helping in Lila’s final years, as well as the good people of Lawry Brothers Funeral Home for taking care of her cremation.
