CLINTON—Linda Rose (Lane) Zinkovitch, 74, passed away at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta on Monday, July 31, 2017, with her family by her side.\r\n\r\nShe was born in Waterville on Feb. 26, 1943, the daughter of the late Melvin and Hazel Lane.\r\n\r\nLinda’s education began in Fairfield, and was an alumnus of Lawrence High School, receiving the BULLDOG AWARD in 2007. She practiced as an LPN, and completed the accelerated UMA program in nursing in 1976. \r\n\r\nLinda was as RN for 36 years. She specialized in and was charge nurse of the Critical Care Unit at Maine General Medical Center. She retired from nursing in 2005. She touched so many people with her love, kindness, and compassion.\r\n\r\nPeople often referred to Linda as “the epitome of professionalism”, and she was regarded with high esteem and respect by her colleagues, family, and community.\r\n\r\nLinda was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grammy, and great grammy. Linda and John met in high school, and quickly fell in love. They’ve been happily married for 56 years. \r\n\r\nLinda loved spending time with her family; sightseeing, traveling, breakfast at Eric’s, lunch at the Bar Harbor Inn, Cabbage Island, and watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren develop and grow. She also liked red roses, Days of Our Lives, Cracker Barrel Sharp Cheese with crackers, chocolate cheesecake, Diane’s pumpkin bread, and a cup of hot water.\r\n\r\nBesides her parents, Melvin and Hazel (Otis) Lane, she was predeceased by her sister, Laura-Jean Lane.\r\n\r\nLinda is survived by her husband, John Robert; her children, son, John Allan Zinkovitch; her daughters, Debra (Zinkovitch) Gosselin and her husband, Jean, and Diane (Zinkovitch) Pisarcik and her wife, Kim; her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Pooler, John Zinkovitch-Goulette and his wife, Meghan, Christopher Pooler, Sarah Lemieux and her husband, Zack, Deanna Wallace, Darius Wallace, and Abel Zinkovitch; her great grandchildren, Brayden Davidson, Maddox Lemieux, Lincoln Lemieux, Caelyn Pooler, and Juliette Lemieux; her sisters, Louella Poirier and her husband, Jim, and Loretta Tisdale and her husband, Ben; and her brothers, Leslie Lan, and Leroy Lane and his wife, Peggy.\r\n\r\nLinda also has several cousins and many nieces and nephews that will miss her.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank the Critical Care Unit at Maine General Health for the loving care the team provided.\r\n\r\nA funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 4 at Brown Memorial United Methodist Church, 36 Church St., Clinton. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Rest Cemetery, Clinton.
