Smithfield, Maine – Lois Jean Mosher, 72, of Smithfield, ME, Passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 9, 2014, surrounded by her children. Lois (Jean) was born in Waterville, ME on August 12, 1942, to Merle and Betty Mosher of Smithfield, ME. Jean attended schools in Smithfield and Oakland, ME, and graduated from Williams High School, class of 1961. She spent many hours at the sunbeam roller rink in her younger years with her beloved sister and friends and in her later years with grandchildren. She worked 25 years as a volunteer driver for KVCAP, and enjoyed doing so. She was passionate about horseback riding, traveling, sewing/quilting, and loved Rendezvous. She enjoyed these activities most with her children and grandchildren. She was forever baking muffins, cookies, doughnuts and pies for all who stopped in. Jean was very much a part of her children’s and grand children’s lives, and always looked forward to those family gatherings, especially Sunday dinners. Jean was a self – sufficient, independent woman with a yes you can attitude. She was very involved whether it be building a house with her sons, or making a quilt with her daughters. She was admired and respected by many, was a role model and absolute hero to her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Merle and Betty Mosher; as well as her sister-in- law, Sandra. Lois Jean is survived by her siblings, William Mosher of Smithfield, ME, Dale Mosher of Missouri, and her sister, Joan Butler and husband, Jon also of Smithfield, ME. She is also survived by her six children, Andrea Gagnon of Sidney, ME, Elizabeth Padham and her husband, Donald of Embden, ME, Barry Wheaton II and his wife, Lauri of Grantville, GA., Mary-Ellen Savage and her husband, David of Madison, ME, Carl Landry of Smithfield, ME, and Andrew Landry and his wife Laurie, of Smithfield, ME; 22 grandchildren all of whom she was very proud of, Danielle Gagnon, Christina (Gagnon) Hernandez, Tim Gagnon Jr., Joseph Fecteau, Joshua Enos, Jordan Enos, Keely-Ann Padham, Karis Padham, Barry Wheaton III, Jessica Wheaton, Benjamin Dudley, Aaron Michaud, Alex Michaud, Andy Lastarza, Adam Jipson, Amanda Landry, Dequan Frost, Abby Paquet, Hailey Paquet, Cassandra Norman, Bradley Norman, and Celeste Landry; and 10 great grandchildren. Jean had many nieces and nephews all of whom she adored. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Dr. Rhonda Kroll for the wonderful care she provided, Oakland Fire and Rescue, along with Delta Ambulance Service, and Cousins Jodie and Jamie for helping with organization and added support. There will be a graveside service at Southside Cemetery in Skowhegan, ME on Thursday, November 13 at “High Noon”. Immediately after, a gathering and celebration of Jean’s life will be held at 281 Village Road, Smithfield, ME.
