WINSLOW, MAINE—Lorraine M. Vigue, 85, of Winslow, Maine was called to the Lord on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Glenridge Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Fairfield, Maine on September 6, 1926. She was educated in Winslow schools, and was employed for more than 40 years by Hannaford, never missing a day of work. She enjoyed dancing, especially polkas, camping, and her many cats. She was a lifetime member of the Winslow VFW women’s auxiliary. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Donat and Leda (Doyon) Tardif; and her brothers, Maynard and Milton Tardif. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George W. Vigue of Winslow, Maine; four daughters, Shereen and her husband, Alfred Deschaine of Winslow, Maine, Brenda Veilleux of Syracuse, New York, Elaine and her husband, Alfred Marcoux of Winslow, Maine, and Linda Cramer of Lilburn, Georgia; six grandchildren, Brenda Primiano, Stephanie Deschaine, Christopher Frazier, Jennifer Mathis, Samantha Anderson, and Cian Cramer; many great grandchildren, especially one born on March 19, 2012; two sisters, Constance Hallee, and Carlene and her husband, Carroll Shores; as well as many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23 at St. John the Baptist Church, 26 Monument Street, Winslow, Maine. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Glenridge Nursing Home, and especially Beacon Hospice for their truly dedicated, and loving care of Lorraine. It made her last days a peaceful journey into the next world. They are truly angels of mercy.
