Eddington, Maine- Maria Socorro cruz, 42, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her home in Eddington, Maine.\r\n\r\nMaria was born in Springfield Massachusetts, on June 11, 1975, grew up in Queens, New York. In 2000, she moved to Skowhegan, Maine with her fiancé (Ismael DeJesus Jr.) to raise her son. She lived in Maine ever since. She is the daughter of Iris Nereida Santos Cruz and the late Juan Regis Aviles Cruz.\r\n\r\nShe was a strong, independent, loving, selfless and caring individual… always willing to help anyone in need of help. Coco is a mother of four beautiful children: Demaro Perez (age 20), Ismael Anthony (14), Alianna DeJesus (8), & Isseal DeJesus (4). Coco was a homemaker who devoted her life to her love ones. She attended Ultimate Medical Academy and graduated with an Associates of Science in Health Sciences as a Medical Administrative Assistant. Shortly after receiving her diploma, only two weeks after graduating, she was given the most devastating news of having Stage 4 Gallbladder Cancer...the start of a very rocky road.\r\nAlthough she was struggling with cancer, she stood true to herself, always with a smile on her face and always trying to make people laugh with her witty jokes. Throughout her struggle, she kept her head held high, focusing on continuing to be a devoted mother, and fiancé ‘til the end. \r\n\r\nMaria is survived by her fiancé, Ismael Dejesus; four children; Mother, Iris; three sisters, Mary Lou cruz, Irene cruz, and Juanita Cruz. \r\n\r\nThe family will like to give a special thanks to all those people who were there through her difficult moments. \r\n\r\nThere will be a nueve dia de Rosario at Mary cruz Home in Winslow for those people interested in attending.
