BURNHAM, MAINE -- Marilyn V. (White) Buzzell, 83, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Thayer Unit, Waterville Campus. Most recently a resident of Burnham, Maine, Marilyn was born June 25, 1930, in Pittsfield, Maine, and lived most of her life in central Maine. A true Mainer, her heart and soul belonged to Maine, and she was fond of telling everyone she met how she felt Maine was the most beautiful place on earth. She thoroughly enjoyed the changing seasons and especially loved fall, with its cool, crisp air and the myriad colors of the trees. Although she never lived near the ocean, there was a special place in her heart for the Maine sea breeze and calming sound of waves lapping against the rocks. Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Everett Buzzell. She is survived by her children, daughter Amy Buzzell, of Pittsfield, Maine, son Joseph Buzzell, of Rhodesville, Va., and daughter Lucy Raybold, of Reno, Nev.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered as always being interested in engaging in conversation, Marilyn was known around the Waterville area, where she lived for much of the past 40 years, as the woman who was always offering a shy smile and hello to strangers. Her "gift of gab," as she liked to call it, lives on in her kids. She will be deeply missed by her children. Arrangements are by Lawry Brothers Funeral Home in Fairfield, Maine. There will be no public service, but anyone wishing to make a donation in her name can do so to the charity of their choice.
