Mary Inez (DeRaps) Tuttle Obituary (1927 - 2016)

Augusta, Maine- Mary Inez (DeRaps) Tuttle, 89, of Augusta, Maine, formerly of Clinton, Maine, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Capitol City Manor in Augusta, Maine. Mary was born on May 24, 1927, in Plymouth, Maine, the daughter of Arthur and Eva (Swift) DeRaps. Mary went on to marry Francis (Arnold) Tuttle. She provided loving care to a number of children for many years as well as caring for two of her grandchildren. Mary dedicated her life to her family. She enjoyed baking, and tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. Mary also enjoyed volunteering with her husband Arnold at the Muskie Center in Waterville, Maine and Meals on Wheels. Mary had an infectious smile that even shined through during her pain filled moments. Her smile will always be talked about and remembered. Mary was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Pearle, Clarence, and Roy; and her sister, Antoinette. She is survived by her two daughters, Lois Douglass and her husband Ken of Sidney, Maine, and Rosia Ann Kennedy and her husband Terry of Connecticut; grandchildren, Tina, Richard, Sharon, Jeremy, Kevin, Lisa, John, and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Shelby, Danielle, Kalianna, Aren, Daylon, Kealy, Leah, Katelyn, and Kristen; her special sister Doreen ReRaps of Pittsfield; and many nieces and nephews. Mary received loving care from all staff members at Capitol City Manor and was loved by all residents. Thank you for the support of Beacon Hospice. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 1, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial at Greenlawn Rest Cemetery in Clinton, Maine.
