Van Buren--Melford Duprey, 68, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 30, 2018.\r\n\r\nHe was born on May 1, 1949, in Lincoln, Maine, the son of Rita Bouchard Duprey and Leonard Duprey. He attended Northern Aroostook Alternative school. He loved to play the "Bead Runner", go for rides, and attend Halloween parties at the Legion.\r\n\r\nHe lived at the S&S foster home for 20 years and was taken care of by Stephen and Sheryl Parent. He loved this family very much and they loved him as their own. Steve and Sheryl's children Scott, Morgan, Ginny, Jason and Elijah grew up with Melford and will miss him very much. Melford's housemates will miss him also.\r\n\r\nHe is survived by his biological siblings, brothers, Lenny, Fred, and Leo Duprey; sisters, Anna Watson, Erma Blakney, and Phyllis Dumais. \r\n\r\nHe was predeceased by his mother; father; two brothers, Reginald and Gary Duprey; and one sister, Alice Mendes.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to give their heartfelt thanks and condolences to Stephen, Sheryl and their family. They loved Melford unconditionally. Thank you also to Marilyn Daigle, Melford's social worker for her devotion to him.\r\n\r\nA graveside memorial service will be held at a later date this spring at Maplewood Cemetery in Fairfield.
