SKOWHEGAN, MAINE--On Monday, September 23, 2013, Mable Hardy, 66, of Skowhegan, Maine lost her courageous battle with cancer at Woodlawn nursing home in Skowhegan, Maine, where she had been wonderfully cared for. She was born in Brunswick, Maine on July 24, 1947, the daughter of Carl and Marion Coombs. She attended Benton Elementary School and graduated from Waterville High School. Mable was an outgoing woman, who enjoyed being around others. You could often find her playing bingo with her friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and crafts, always sharing her creations with others. She made beautiful afghans. Mable’s greatest passion and joy in life was her son, Merle. Mable was a devoted mother who always put her son first. Nothing gave her greater joy than spending time with him. The bond they shared was very special. Mable will always be in his heart and she will be looking down on him smiling. Mable is survived by her son, Merle Tozier of Winslow, Maine. She is also survived by two brothers, Carl Coombs of Fairfield, Maine and Gene Coombs of Winslow, Maine. She was predeceased by her parents. Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
