Racheal L. Gola (Soucy) Obituary (1992 - 2021)

Fairfield-Racheal L. Gola (Soucy), age 29, unexpectedly passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021. She was born January 17, 1992, in Waterville, Maine, the first child of Bruce Soucy and Lisa Breault. Racheal grew up in Fairfield, Maine and attended Lawrence High School. She is survived by her two children Natalia and Gavin Gola; her sister Brianna Soucy; two nephews Cole and Cameron Hardy; cousin Aaron Knox and his husband Anthony Belair; along with her two lifelong best friends Natalie Steeves and her husband Rob Steeves, and Megan Poulin. Racheal is predeceased by her parents Lisa Breault, and Bruce Soucy; grandparents Allan and Terry Breault; her daughter Savanna Soucy; and great aunt Sherry Cloutier. Racheal enjoyed time spent with her children, family, and friends, whether it was a trip to the lake, a lunch date, or a casual visit just to catch up. Racheal valued every moment, especially time spent with those she cared about most. She overcame many obstacles in her short time on this earth, her zest for life, wisdom, and humor were incomparable, only overshadowed by her overwhelming strength of will, determination and positivity. She lived her life to the fullest knowing all too well how short life truly is taking time out of each day to reach out and personally touch those around her in a positive way. Her bright and energetic personality will be unmeasurably missed by many. The strength and will power she exhibited during times of loss, and hardship along with the love, loyalty, and absolute dedication she provided to loved ones will be remembered and cherished always. Racheal was known for her sense of humor and the ability to laugh even at her own expense. She loved Betty White sporting a quote too scandalous to share on her refrigerator. In her honor we share another quote in its place, one that we feel embodies who Racheal was as a person. “Butterflies are like woman - we may look pretty and delicate, but baby, we can fly through a hurricane” - Betty White Family and Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Sunday June 27th from 1pm-3pm at the Winslow VFW. This will be a potluck full of love and laughter in Racheal’s honor. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to support Racheal’s two young children through this incredibly difficult transition.
