UNITY, ME—Randall F. Roberts, 65, of Unity passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 23, 2015, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME. He was born in Bangor, ME on September 4, 1949, the son of the late Raymond S. and Shirley (Lowe) Roberts Jr. On July 17, 1971, Randall married his best friend, Diane T. Chase. In his earlier years he was employed by the State of Maine Department of Agriculture. In 1974, Randall became the owner and operator of Chase’s Home Furnishings in Unity, ME, which he operated for over 30 years. Following his retirement, he transformed the store into apartments. Many of his tenants were Unity College students that thought the world of him. Randall was a very social man. His family was the most important part of his life, especially his grandchildren. Randall will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Diane; his children, Jenny Mayhew and her husband, Galen and their children, Connor and Zoe, Joshua Roberts and his children, Kasey and Chase, Jessica Roberts and her children, Isabella, Elizabeth, and Elliot, and Jaime D’Errico and her husband, Josh; his brother, Raymond Roberts III and his wife, Carol; and his sister, Holly Keller and her husband, Gary. He is also survived by Melissa Saucier whom he thought of as his daughter and her daughter, Lily whom he thought of as his granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Private family services will be held now with a public celebration of his life to be held later in the spring.
