Fairfield, ME- Randolph M. Getchell, Jr., 76, passed away at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta, ME with his family at his side. \r\n\r\nHe was born in Shawmut, ME on February 5, 1939 to the late Randolph Getchell, Sr. and Frances (Reath) Getchell. \r\n\r\nRandy graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, ME and then went on to join the Maine National Guard. He then worked for the Fairfield Police Department, the Getty Garage, and he worked for the Chinet Company for 29 years before retiring. \r\n\r\nRandy enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car driving at Unity Raceway, camping at Unity Pond, and he especially enjoyed the family get-togethers years ago where he would play guitar and sing with family and friends. Randy also really loved spending time at his camp at Rangley, ME.\r\n\r\nHe is predeceased by both his parents Randolph “Buzz” Getchell, Sr. and Frances (Reath); great grandson Conner John Alley; special friends Ed and Divola Sargent; and his beloved dog Maxwell.\r\n\r\nRandy is survived by his wife Doreen of 53 years of marriage; his daughters, Vicki Winchenbach and her partner Freddie Wenthworth, Jr., Sharon Greene and her husband Leon Greene, Rowene Albright, and Helena Anthony Hall; son Marc Anthony; brother Wayne Getchell; grandchildren, Melissa Winchenbach, Allan, Bobbi Jo Boothby and Travis Greene; great grandchildren, Taylor, Danika, Keagan, Shaylee, Braden, and Ava.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank Maine General Medical Center Two West and especially Dr. Aldilaimi for all of their care.\r\n\r\nVisiting hours will be Monday, December 21 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, ME. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 22 at 11 am, at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Fairfield VFW from 12 to 3 pm following the service.
