Fairfield- Mr. Robert Brian Tupper, 73, passed away on Saturday,\r\nMay 30, 2020 at Eastern Maine Medical Center following a brief illness. He\r\nwas the devoted longtime companion to Donna (Farrin) Chapman with\r\nwhom he shared 26 years. He was a beloved best friend, partner, father,\r\ngrandfather and great grandfather. He was known as the “Old Man”.\r\n\r\nBrian was born May 3, 1947 in Waterville, Maine, he is the son of the\r\nlate Robert E. and Muriel (Hartford) Tupper. He was a resident of Fairfield\r\nfor most of his life, a graduate of Lawrence High School Class of 1965. He\r\nwent on to further his education graduating in 1969 from University of\r\nMaine Orono with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Husbandry, where he was\r\nalso a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.\r\n\r\nHe was a United States Army veteran serving in Thailand during the\r\nVietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of\r\nVietnam Campaign Medal and Sharpshooter Badge with Rifle Bar and\r\nGrenade.\r\n\r\nAfter leaving the service, Brian worked as a Manager at Agway Farm\r\nSupply. He completed his employment years as a Driver for UPS before\r\nhis retirement. He was a Gentleman farmer at his family farm and sold hay,\r\nfarmed pumpkins and raised cows.\r\n\r\nBrian treasured the time he shared with his family and always\r\nenjoyed the grandchildren coming to the farm and playing in The Maple\r\nTree. He also enjoyed gardening and planting and caring for his flower\r\nbeds. Brian was active with 4H , one of his favorite activities was showing\r\nguernsey cows, he was a former junior member of Victor Grange 49 and\r\nwas a former member and acolyte at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.\r\n\r\nIn addition to Donna, Brian is survived by his son Christopher B.\r\nTupper and his wife Holly of Cornville, his daughters Jill M. Stepniak and\r\nher husband Robert of Florida and Tiffany M. Allen of Maine, stepson\r\nChristopher A. Chapman and his wife Molly of Smithfield, stepson Brady T.\r\nChapman and his wife Jennifer of Skowhegan and stepdaughter Stacey\r\nBosworth and her husband Scott of Cornville. He is survived by his siblings\r\nCatherine M. Tupper and her husband Richard Dobbs of New Mexico,\r\nJames H. Tupper and his wife Daphne of Fairbanks, Alaska, Leanne M.\r\nStevens and her husband Edward of Fairfield, Gretchen M. Ross and her\r\nhusband John of Fairfield and Cynthia L. Hymel and her husband Curtis of\r\nFairfield. He is also survived by his cherished 11 grandchildren Jake,\r\nSamantha, Drew, Jordan, Kaytlin, Ryan, Zachary, Erica, Chase, Wyatt and\r\nMorgan, four great grandchildren Winston, Sophia, Jace and Ava and many\r\nnieces and nephews, together with a large extended family of cousins,\r\naunts and uncles.\r\n\r\nIn addition to his parents, Brian is predeceased by his son Eric B.\r\nTupper.\r\n\r\nA graveside Service will be held in Tozier Cemetery on Saturday, June 6, 11:00 am. \r\n\r\nIn lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Neonatal Intensive\r\nCare Unit, Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine.\r\n\r\nA special thank you goes out to Dr. Jared Wilkinson, staff of Inland\r\nHospital and staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center.
