WATERVILLE, ME—Ruth V. Clark passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the age of 97 at her residence in Waterville, ME. Ruth was born Ruth Viola Kiesow in Baldworth, Saskatchewan, Canada on December 30, 1917. Her parents were Mary Elizabeth Birney Kiesow and Walter Albert Kiesow. Ruth lived in Canada, Montana, Hartford, Connecticut, and became a resident of Clinton, Maine in 1945. Ruth and her husband, Bill had been married for 57 years when Bill passed away in 1996. Ruth moved to Park Residences, an independent living facility, in 2006. Very specials thanks, from the Christopher and Kiesow families, to the entire staff at Park Residences for providing Ruth with an extremely warm environment that provided her with an active life and a home surrounded with friends. Ruth is survived by many nieces and nephews scattered about the States. Locally, Ruth was cared for by Carol and Craig Christopher of Madison, ME, Bea and Walter Kiesow of Winslow, ME, and their families. As a resident of Clinton, ME, Ruth and Bill were active in many local organizations. Brown Memorial United Methodist Church, Sebasticook Ridding Club, and the Lions Club, were just a few of their interests. Ruth’s working careers, other than working the farm with Bill, included teaching in Saskatchewan, in 1950, she worked as a bookkeeper at Pinecrest Hatchery in Winslow, ME, an Office Manager at Joseph’s Motor Co. in Waterville, ME, a first grade teacher in Clinton, ME, and finally a math teacher at Lawrence Junior High School from 1970-1978. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Memorial United Methodist Church on 36 Church Street, Clinton, ME. A luncheon at the church will follow the service. Ruth will be laid to rest next to Bill in Augusta, ME at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on May 11, 2015.
