Fairfield, Maine-Shirley M. Perry, 83, of Fairfield, Maine, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus. She was born in Fairfield, Maine on October 4, 1930, the daughter of the late Ralph and Pauline (Wood) Gousse. She attended schools in Fairfield, Maine. On April 24, 1954, she married Cyrus “Mickey” Perry. He passed away on September 12, 2000. She was employed by LaVerdiere’s Drug Store in Fairfield, Maine for many years, and later at Rite Aid as a pharmacist assistant, retiring in 1995. She was a member of the Memorial Auxiliary, Post 6924, in Fairfield, Maine, for many years. She loved crocheting afghans and giving those to family and friends. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, and loved cooking. Every Tuesday, she would have a special day at “Grammie's”, where she would cook for her children and grandchildren. She loved being with her family and was especially happy when her grandchildren came through the door. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Perry on September 2, 2010; a sister Lorraine Willey; and three brothers, Reginald, Bernard, and Ronald Gousse. She is survived by a son, Steven Perry and his wife Elizabeth of Clearwater, FL; her two daughters, Debra Fuller and her husband David of Albion, Maine, and Karen Taylor and her husband Ralph of Venice, FL; her brother, Lawrence Gousse of Florida; her nine grandchildren Kathie, April, Christopher, Dannielle, Alexis, Amanda, Joseph, Paul, and Nicholas; three great grandchildren Cassandra, Chloe, and Joseph; her special friends Bud and Margaret; and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 10, from 5-8 p.m. at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main Street, Fairfield, Maine. A service at the funeral home will be held at 7 p.m. with pastor Steve Donahue officiating. Burial will be held in the spring at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta, Maine.
