FAIRFIELD, MAINE--Sister Connie Caron, of the Congregation of Our Lady of Sion (NDS), of Fairfield, Maine, died suddenly at her home in the early hours of Sunday, August 10, 2014. Sister Connie was born to Roland and Muriel Caron (nee Deschenes) in Lewiston, Maine on September 12, 1946. She had four sisters, one brother and a number of nieces and nephews. She went to school at Holy Cross Elementary and Lewiston High School and graduated summa cum laude from college in Washington, D.C. Sister Connie entered the Congregation in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and made her final vows on April 14, 1974. She was trained to teach using the Montessori method for young children, then taught in schools in Kansas City, Missouri (Notre Dame de Sion School), Chicago, the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota and in Texas. She loved clowning, drumming and crafting and enthusiastically shared her talents through demonstrations, classes and presentations at the Living Waters Spiritual Center in Waterville, Maine, among many other places. Sister Connie will be remembered for her love of children, her enthusiasm for life and all God’s creation. She will be missed. We will offer prayers for the repose of Sister Connie’s soul at Notre Dame Church in Waterville, Maine on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 6:00pm. May she rest in peace.
