On Sunday, March 27, 2011, Terince Terry Edward Lawe, a kind and gentle man, passed away at his home. Terry was born in Oak Harbor, Washington on May 18, 1949. He was the son of Thomas and Marjorie (Dimmick) Lawe. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Terry was employed at Keyes Fibre Company for 34 years. More recently he was employed part time for Corpus Christi Parish as a janitor at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield. He loved playing cards with family and friends, hunting with his son in the Fall and fishing in the Summer. For many years he played in the Keyes Soft Ball and Bowling Leagues. He also volunteered at the Fairfield Interfaith Food Pantry. Terry was an accomplished artist and enjoyed woodworking, making wooden vehicles for his family. He was a loving husband, father and Pop Pop to Julia and Jenna, his precious granddaughters. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Lynda Weatherbee; and his mother-in-law, Margaret St. Amand. Terry is survived by his wife, Barbara (St. Amand) Lawe; son, Tristan Lawe and wife Jamie and granddaughters, Julia and Jenna Lawe; daughter, Samantha Lawe; brother, James Lawe and wife Mary of Concrete, Washington; sister, Patricia Lawe of Portland, Oregon; stepmother, Shirley Lawe of Gresham, Oregon; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Jones and husband Fred of Orlando, Florida and Susan Maheu of Oakland; brother-in-law, Raymond St. Amand of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews including Brandon Maheu and wife Samantha of Hallowell, and Jeremy Maheu of Portland. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, High Street, Fairfield, Maine. All are welcome to attend a small gathering in the Knights of Columbus Hall in the church basement.
