Unity, Maine-Vernon L. Bagley, Sr., 91, of Unity, Maine, passed away at his home in Unity, Maine on October 3, 2012. He was born. in Pittsfield, Maine on April 21, 1921, the son of the late Edwin and Madeline Bagley. He was married to the former June Stewart before she passed away on December 7, 1987. For over 50 years, he was a self-employed truck driver, hauling milk for Westlann Creamery, and Hoods Dairy. He loved animals, and raised many on his farm. He also enjoyed working in the woods, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren at the lake. When he was young he loved to break horses for a stable in Pittsfield. He was a member of the Masons. He was predeceased by a daughter, Cherylee Call; a son, Ricky L. Bagley; and a grandson, Kevin Von Olsen; and three brothers. He is survived by a son, Vernon L. Bagley, Jr., and his wife Kathy of Unity, Maine; five grandsons, Ricky and Melissa, Jon and Catherine, Jamie and Sue, Scott, and Andrew; five great grandsons, Ricky, Shane, Seth, Shawn, and Tyler; and two great granddaughters, Jordon, and Alexis. The family would like to give a very special thank-you to Mimi Dodge for her devotion, homecare, and being a friend to Vernon. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, at 1 p.m. at Pond Cemetery in Unity, Maine with the Star of the West Lodge AF & AM # 85 of Unity conducting the service.
