Fairfield, Maine - Virginia Dell Galipo, 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Virginia was born in Hartford, CT on July 6, 1934, the daughter of Alva and Jeanetta Flemming. She graduated high school in Avon CT. She was a secretary at Raytheon and also worked at Phalo Wire Corp. Her favorite job was as a Personal Care Assistant, because Virginia enjoyed helping people. Virginia was a member of Clinton Baptist Church. One of her greatest joys was going to church and spending time with her church family. Before moving to Maine, she was active in various churches as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, and choir. Two of Virginia's favorite activities were entertaining and cooking for guests in her home, and attending woodworking craft shows with her husband. She was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of over 61 years; her daughter, Pamela and her husband Dennis Baker; her son, Kenneth Galipo; her grandchildren, David Baker, Julie and her husband Scott Knodeler, Crystal and her husband Dewayne Jackson, and Jacob Galipo; and her great grandchildren, Christopher, Noah, Gabriella, and Chase. She will be missed greatly by her family and all who knew her. Visiting hours will be held at Lawry Brothers Funeral Home, 107 Main St., Fairfield, Maine on Monday, February 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p. m. followed by the funeral service. Graveside services and burial will be held in the spring at Maplewood Cemetery, Fairfield, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clinton Baptist Church, P.O. Box 1 Clinton ME, 04927, to go towards missions.
